Medical Insurance Claiming
Using the Health Hub is the quickest and easiest way to submit a claim. Aetna International have medical, dental, vision, and wellness claim forms in a wide range of languages. You can either print them off or complete them online.
The Health Hub is designed to make it simple for you to find information and get support for your health and wellness needs when you need it most. To make a new claim or track an existing claim, you’ll need to be registered for the Health Hub. Log in and click on ‘Claims’. You can start a new claim or continue working on one you started earlier. Before you begin the process, make sure you have:
• Your personal details (although Aetna will prefill as much information as they can);
• The patient’s contact details and information about the claim;
• Payment details; and
• Any relevant documents, including invoices and receipts. These will need to be uploaded. We accept files in many formats including picture jpgs.
Next, you’ll need to tell Aetna about the claim:
• The reason for your visit to the medical provider;
• Some general details about your symptoms;
• The medical condition;
• The diagnosis;
• The date of the treatment; and
• Whether you were treated as an inpatient or an outpatient.
Your claim can be paid by electronic bank transfer or cheque — it’s your choice. Make sure you’ve got your bank’s details, including the bank address and SWIFT code or International Bank Account Number — also known as IBAN.
To set up your online payment preference, click on ‘Plan & details’ and then click ‘Repayment details’ at the foot of the
page. Fill in the required details, following which, you can select this payment option with every future claim — or you can set up new ones.
To track a claim, you’ll need to go to ‘Claims’ and choose the ‘In Progress’, ‘Paid’ or ‘Denied’ tabs to see the progress and status of your claims. The ‘All’ tab gives you access to all your claims information.
If you have any problems or questions about submitting a claim, visit the FAQ section of the Health Hub or call a member of the team
using the phone number on the back of your Member ID card. Aetna International offer round-the-clock help and support, over the phone and online.
Your Member ID Card also tells you your plan type, and whether you’re an International plan member or World Traveller plan member. You’ll need to know this information to register for the Health Hub.
If you haven’t received your Member ID Card or welcome pack and you need to make a claim, the main plan member can ask their account manager or sales consultant for their unique membership number. Once they have it, they can register for the Health Hub and make a claim for themselves.
As soon as a family member on the policy has registered for the Health Hub, they can make a claim. The main plan member (or policy holder) can look up the family member’s membership number in the Certificate of Insurance, which can be found in the ‘Plan & details’ section of the Health Hub.
To put all the features of the Health Hub at your fingertips, you can also download Aetna International’s ‘International Mobile Assistant’ app to your mobile. Go to the App Store or Google Play to get access. You’ll need to register for the Health Hub before you can submit claims via the app.
