We attempt to treat all of our insurance partners honestly, fairly and with respect.
To reinforce the standards to which we are committed, we developed the following vetting guide for insurance partners
which outlines the qualities and values that we look for when vetting an insurer that we would like to recommend to our clients.
Financial Strength
- They are a regulated insurer or third party administrator from a sound and stable jurisdiction.
- They need to be positively evaluated by leading providers of credit ratings.
- Their rating for financial strength should be reviewed with a positive outlook.
- They must have an excellent reputation for claims handling.
- They will show a sound levels of liquidity, solvency, profitability, and operating efficiency.
Ethical Business Practices
We are looking for insurers that act with integrity and ethical behavior in all business dealings.Â
- They should not offer, pay or accept bribes or kickbacks of any kind.
- They need to be free of conflicts of interest.
- They have to comply with all applicable anti-money laundering laws.
- They must be truthful in discussions with i-Brokers.
Legal and regulatory compliance
We seek insurers whose products and services are always in full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- They have to be licensed in a regulated jurisdiction.
- They must meet minimum criteria required by the regulatory authority in their country.
- They need to abide by fair competition laws and regulations.
- They should comply with relevant health and safety laws and regulations.
Data privacy, security and confidentiality
Insurers that we would like to partner with must comply with all privacy and non-disclosure agreements
and only use information obtained from i-Brokers for the purpose defined by the contractual arrangement.
- They must ensure that all data that i-Brokers provides to themselves remains confidential and secure.
- They must ascertain that the IT system fulfill data privacy and security requirements.
- They must comply with The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
- They must notify i-Brokers of any known data privacy and security breaches at once.
